Walls of Isolation

When news first broke of the pandemic, I started to bed down for isolation. My physical space reflected my mental state - good intentions to learning new things fell apart and my cocoon became a mental and physical trap. The difficulties of disruptions and confinement began to take its toll.

I lived in a boat in Dubai at the time. I stood in one spot and took a consecutive sequence of images. I used 35mm black and white film and developed it at home.

The work was featured in the Silvergrain Classics Docupan series - https://silvergrainclassics.com/en/portfolio/confined-or-cocooned-by-poras-dhakan/
